The wind has picked up again today and the waves are big. The breeze through the patio is nice since it's another very hot day.
At lunchtime today Maria (our Thomson rep.) will be bring us our Leaving Pack. This is a sad reminder that we are approaching the end of our two weeks in paradise. The strange thing is, we are already looking forward to the comforts of home. A bacon sandwich, a comfortable car and roads that don't shake you to pieces. Our cats, decent TV programmes, Marmite on toast, the Sunday papers. Watching a movie with a take-away, and last but by no means least, our friends.
After we've seen Maria we plan to have lunch at the Carib Beach Bar. For now, it's back to my book.
The book is going well but after an hour or two, I was getting thirsty. I went down to the Beach Bar and had a drink with Robert. As nothing had been planned for this evening Robert and Randy suggest they cook for us. I was going to go to Oistins with them to buy the fish but there wasn't time before Janice and I had to go to The Carib Beach Bar for lunch. I gave Robert some money and said I see him later.
We walked to The Carib, it's a hot day but there's a good breeze. I found a place on the way that can print from the type of memory card my camera uses. I decided I'm going to get a print of the photo Janice took of Robert, Ricky and me. It'll have to wait until tomorrow, as I don't have the memory card on me.
A nice meal in Carib and a few Carib beers and we we're ready to walk back. We returned along the beach as far as we could and then back on the road. A quick comfort stop and beer at Bert's bar made the walk back more enjoyable. We also popped into the store at the Quayside Centre to buy some bread and other bits.
Janice didn't want to attend the cooking part of the beach meal this evening but I want to see how it's prepared. We've got Dolphin steaks, breadfruit and sweet potatoes. A few rum punches during cooking passes the time and then it's all done. I took a plate full of food to Janice and then returned to eat mine at the bar. Again, another great meal! Some more rum punch and then I sat under the trees with Robert and the others until well after sunset.
Back at the apartment, Janice enjoyed her food and washed it down with wine. We went to bed shortly after and I read my book for a while.
Drinks tally:
3 Banks, 2 Carib, 4 rum punch, 1 pineapple and white rum.
